We are seeking an experienced Formulation Scientist to join our growing team located at the Purdue Technology Center, West Lafayette, Indiana. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agricultural formulations and a proven track record of developing novel products. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the formulation development process from concept to commercialization. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced start-up working alongside Titans of the formulation industry. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the company's success and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• In consultation with company experts, lead the formulation development efforts of new active ingredients, including both biologicals (micro-organisms, proteins, peptides, plant extracts, viruses) and chemistry (naturally-derived or synthetic).
• Collaborate with our clients to ensure alignment between formulation development, regulatory requirements, and commercial objectives.
• Design and optimize formulation compositions to improve product performance, stability, and efficacy.
• Conduct laboratory experiments and tests to evaluate the physical and chemical properties of formulations.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments in agricultural formulations and actively contribute to innovative ideas and new approaches.
• Follow established protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for safe and efficient laboratory practices.
• Record and document all experimental information and organize, analyze, summarize, and report the final results.
• Communicate effectively with other team members and our clients. Present experimental results and progress in group discussions and project updates.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.

Qualifications:

• PhD or Master's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in agricultural formulation development, preferably in a research or industrial setting.
• Proven track record of successfully developing and commercializing innovative agricultural products.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines governing agricultural formulations.
• Fast learner with strong curiosity and passion in biological and chemical formulations and hands-on experimentation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and a willingness to take risks.
